Teenagers play odd “game” that gets five pregnant

I’m in my mid-20s, so I feel silly saying “Well back in my day” type statements. But this story of five Polish teens getting pregnant due to a game called “The Sun” is by far the weirdest thing I’ve heard in quite some time.

According to a report on TheNews.pl, students around 14 and 15 years-old played a game called “The Sun” or “A Star.” The premise is simple: The girls lay on the floor with their eyes closed and the boys take turns, if I may use medical jargon, gettin’ all up in dat.

The winner of the game is the boy who manages to finish his part in intercourse last.

Anna Czarnocka, the school’s headmaster, told The News that five girls got pregnant from the game while two have already given birth.

Prosecutors blame the kids’ small town of Ostroda for part of the problem. According to their arguments, nobody talks about sex at school and they have no instructor there to teach kids about sex leading to pregnancy.

It’s entirely possible I just don’t get the culture, but even if a girl didn’t know about the dangers of pregnancy and how it could happen, how does one make a game out of a series of boys popping one off in you? I can’t imagine this game happened totally organically. There’s probably some savvy out of town kid who moved to Ostroda and was like, “Yesssss…this is the perfect place to infect with my lecherous big city ways.” Which kind of deserves kudos. It’s like someone took Twister and brought it to the 21st century! And used it to ruin teenage girls’ lives! Double win!
