Police arrest sword wielding man on mission to kill Bin Laden

Police in Pakistan have arrested a U.S. builder after the man (armed with a pistol and a sword) claimed he was on a mission to kill the leader of Al Qaeda. If it saves the taxpayers a few million bucks, I say let him do it.Gary Faulkner is being labeled a modern day Rambo. The 52-year-old was arrested in Pakistan on Sunday and while he may not have been the most well-equipped soldier in the region, he certainly had the most heart. Faulkner was found in a heavily wooded area in the northern Chitral region of the country after slipping away from his police escort on June 3rd.

‘We initially laughed when he told us that he wanted to kill Osama bin Laden,’ Officer Mumtaz Ahmad Khan said.

Of course you initially laughed at the guy he’s just trying to do your job without all the bribery and corruption. I’m sure a good portion of the Pakistani police force doesn’t do anything for less than a couple hundred dollars worth of dirty money per day. And while Faulkner was probably in way over his head, you have to respect a man willing to go on the hunt for one of the most elusive criminals that the world has ever know with only a sword, pistol, night vision goggles, and oh yeah, his kidney medication.

But he added that, when officers seized the pistol, the 40in sword and night vision equipment, ‘our suspicion grew’.

That’s some fine police work, gentlemen.

You know what? They should let him do it. We need more people like this guy in the world. Sure, he may be a little off his rocker, but damnit if he thinks he can find Bin Laden, then we should let him try. It’s not like anyone else is making massive headway in the search. And he also claimed that he had personal losses in the 9/11 attacks. He has more of a right and reason to be searching for Al Qaeda than anybody else. If this is the way he wants to spend his life then I think we should all respect that. Obviously it’s not the smartest thing to be doing, but with all the red-tape and politics that go into finding international criminals these days, maybe it’s time we start letting people like this get involved. It’s cost-effective and inspiring — I say let Rambos be Rambos.
