Over 16,000 San Diego fans showed up for a game last night between the Padres and the Blue Jays. What they hoped for was a win from the home team. Instead, they were treated to a 6-3 loss and a 5.7 magnitude earthquake.
Impressively, most of the fans cheered as the stadium shook. That’s a tell-tale sign that you’ve been a part of one too many earthquakes.
A few players were thinking strategy though as evidenced by Chase Headley’s quote:
"I was hoping it would rattle the pitcher," said Chase Headley of Toronto's Shaun Marcum, who held the Padres to six hits over seven innings. "I didn't like it, not from being around here it was kind of freaky."
Some guys steal signs, some guys use extra pine tar, and some even use roids to stay one step ahead of the game. Chase Headley though, nah, he just waits for earthquakes.
Shaky night for Padres {SignonSanDiego}
